Position Overview
Wichita Construction Group is seeking an experienced Concrete Foreman to lead on-site concrete operations. This position is responsible for coordinating daily field activities, maintaining project schedules and budgets, enforcing safety and quality standards, and ensuring concrete work is completed according to plans and specifications. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who communicates effectively, develops team members, solves problems in the field, and demonstrates our core values of Quality, Integrity, Accountability, Results, and Teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise concrete laborers, finishers, and form carpenters, assigning daily responsibilities and monitoring performance.
- Plan project stages, develop work schedules, and coordinate labor, materials, equipment, deliveries, inspections, pumps, trucking, formwork, and reinforcing steel.
- Review blueprints, engineering notes, and project specifications to calculate quantities and plan concrete operations.
- Oversee horizontal and vertical layout using benchmarks, control points, survey stakes, total stations, laser levels, and related instruments.
- Direct concrete placement, finishing, sawing, and curing in accordance with project requirements and company quality standards.
- Inspect concrete mixes, materials, and workmanship and reject work or materials that do not meet specifications.
- Coordinate project progress, approvals, changes, schedules, and field needs with superintendents, project managers, subcontractors, inspectors, clients, and company leadership.
- Conduct daily production meetings, hazard analyses, and toolbox talks while enforcing OSHA requirements, PPE use, and safe equipment operation.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members while promoting accountability, teamwork, and continuous development.
- Track labor, materials, equipment usage, cost codes, and work performed outside the original estimate.
- Complete and submit daily reports, crew timesheets, progress photos, safety documentation, incident reports, receipts, and other required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Oversee the safe operation and maintenance of jobsite equipment and operate excavators, telehandlers, skid-steer loaders, and compaction equipment when needed.
Qualifications
- Five or more years of concrete construction experience, including at least two years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of concrete operations, construction plans, specifications, layout methods, and material calculations.
- Proven ability to lead crews, coordinate field activities, and meet project schedules, budgets, safety requirements, and quality standards.
- Experience operating common construction equipment, including excavators, telehandlers, skid-steer loaders, and compaction equipment.
- Strong communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.
- Ability to work outdoors, meet the physical demands of the position, lift up to 50 pounds, and pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, and concrete construction certifications are preferred.

Concrete Finisher

Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $25-$28/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Overtime as needed
Position Overview
We are seeking motivated and dependable Concrete Finishers to join our field team. This role is essential to supporting high-quality concrete work while upholding our safety standards, quality expectations, and commitment to on-time project delivery. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills across various aspects of concrete construction while contributing to high-quality concrete projects. Applicants should be prepared for physically demanding work that requires attention to detail and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with other construction team members, including concrete laborers, finishers, and supervisors, to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Perform screeding, floating, jointing, edging, finishing, and curing per plans
- Use hand trowels, walk behind, and ride on power trowels to densify and smooth the concrete surface
- Monitor weather conditions and adjust placement and finishing methods
- Apply specified finishes, including broom, trowel, stamped, and textured surfaces
- Cut control joints in concrete using early entry saws
- Coordinate with inspectors, contractors, and engineers to meet specifications
- Maintain tools, protect surrounding work, and keep a safe, clean job site
- Oversee and coordinate with laborers in the placement of concrete
- Assist in setting up foundations, walls, slabs, paving and other concrete structures in preparation for concrete placement.
Qualifications
- Concrete finishing experience required
- Must own personal concrete finishing hand tools
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work
- Experience operating small tools and equipment
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

Concrete Laborer

This role is essential to supporting high-quality concrete work while upholding our safety standards, quality expectations, and commitment to on-time project delivery. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills across various aspects of concrete construction while contributing to high-quality concrete projects. Applicants should be prepared for physically demanding work that requires attention to detail and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Minor preparation of subgades below slabs and paving
- Assist carpenters with the installation of slab and wall formwork
- Handling and placement of concrete reinforcing
- Work closely with concrete finishers during concrete placements to spread, level, and consolidate concrete
- Clean loose materials from the bottom of excavations and assist operators in maintaining grades.
- Install vapor barriers and insulation
- Load, unload, and carry materials and tools.
- Use concrete saws and jackhammers to demolish existing concrete
- Set up pumps and hoses for the dewatering of sites
- Use handheld and motorized compaction equipment to backfill excavations
- Keep jobsites free of debris and trash
- Strip forms from concrete, remove nails, oil and save for reuse
Qualifications
- Construction or concrete experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
